A little somethin' for myself

With more time at hand these days, I got myself some books and started reading again. Books, much like movies, take you to another realm (except, you have to be way more imaginative while reading) of things, away from the 'routine of life', I find it therapeutic (until I start to doze off mid-way through a sentence hee).

So, with new books, I gotta have a new bookmark! I made an absolutely girly, pink, glittery one for myself, complete with my own name on it =) What a way to jazz up my reading experience!

Drop us a note (buttons.ribbons.paperie@gmail.com), if you would also like a personalised bookmark for yourself, or maybe as a gift for someone special =)

This one's for you, my friend - Happy Birthday

Sydney, July 2002

It was enrollment day for first year uni students. I was lost, confused, excited, anxious, all at the same time. There, I made friends with a lanky, bespectacled girl, Yen, who was, I suppose, as lost and confused as me. We helped each other (or maybe we confused ourselves further). I still remember the details of that very first day of uni - fast car, spilled coffee, chicken rice, wine, rat (Yen, you know what I'm talking about). And with that, our friendship began....

Singapore, October 2010

Daily msn chats - lamenting, complaints, comfort, mindless jokes, raw humor. Our friendship has stood the test of time, after 8 years and countless life events, we remain the same, only older (inevitable, sad to say) and wiser (I hope?). I wish our friendship will last another decade, or even more! And let us look forward to our exciting plan :)

Happy Birthday Yen!

Unconditional love

The last post featured a card from a filial son to his mother. This card is from a filial daughter to her beloved mother who was recently 'upgraded' to grandmother status. It's funny how sometimes, amidst our busy lives, we forget that our parents are always looking out for us, in their own special ways. Mothers especially, with their unconditional love for their children. We tend to overlook the little things they do or have done to make our lives better. Being pregnant (especially at this last stage of my pregnancy) has really opened my eyes and heart about the meaning of a mother's sacrifice. I am sure the customer who ordered this card for her mother can attest to that! The sacrifices a mother-to-be makes, even before the birth of her child, is only the beginning of a lifetime of sacrifices...

We hope this card will bring a smile and much joy to the new grandmother (green is her favorite color) :)

Triple Ten

So yesterday was the triple ten date, which we will never come across again in our lifetime (unless of course  you live to a thousand years!). Big date for weddings, births, moving in/out, and all other life-changing events. Surprisingly, we had no wedding invites yesterday, unlike some friends who had to rush to several weddings on the same day! Well, whatever the date may be, if something phenomenal happens, gastronomically life changing, any date would be significant to the individual. Have a great week ahead!

Specially requested- A brown and pink color combi moneyholder for a newly wed.
