Σ'αγαπώ ~ je t'aime

I was away in Santorini, Greece and Paris on my honeymoon 2 weeks back. We spent 4 amazing blissful days, soaking up the Santorini sun (and famous sunset), and 7 days in the City of Lights, experiencing the Parisian way of life. Best thing of the trip - I got to spend it with my husband, who made  it so much more meaningful. Here are some of the photos we took:-

The village of Oia

The famous blue and white architecture.
On board the Thalassa boat, watching the Santorini sunset.

Dad

I don't know how other dads are like, my dad is a man of few words, quiet and solemn, always looks as if he has a million thoughts on his mind. My dad is also responsible, strong minded and caring in his own way. I don't say it often enough, but I'm always grateful for everything my dad has provided me all these years.

Send your dad a special message this coming Father's Day, to express your love and gratitude to all that he's done for you, I'm sure he'll appreciate the gesture.

xoxo,
Emme

[ˈbaːtik]

Batik (Javanese pronunciation: [ˈbate?]; Indonesian pronunciation: [ˈbaːtik]; English: /ˈbætɪk/ or /bəˈtiːk/) is a cloth that traditionally uses a manual wax-resist dyeing technique. Due to modern advances in the textile industry, the term has been extended to include fabrics that incorporate traditional batik patterns even if they are not produced using the wax-resist dyeing techniques.
Javanese traditional batik, has special meanings rooted to the Javanese conceptualization of the universe. Traditional colours include indigo, dark brown, and white, which represent the three major Hindu Gods (Brahmā, Visnu, and Śiva). This is related to the fact that natural dyes are only available in indigo and brown. Certain patterns can only be worn by nobility; traditionally, wider stripes or wavy lines of greater width indicated higher rank. Consequently, during Javanese ceremonies, one could determine the royal lineage of a person by the cloth he or she was wearing.
