The significance of birthdays diminishes as we grow older, at least for us ladies (or even some men!) who wish we do not have to "plus 1" to our age every year. Nonetheless, birthdays should be a celebration of our achievements and experiences throughout the XX years of our lives, a time of nostalgia even, if you like. We ought to embrace this annual event even as we grow older and wiser (hopefully).
So, send your loved ones/friends a card filled with words of encouragement and love, sacarsm or mockery (for a laugh maybe?) or even just your genuine well wishes.
