{cupcakes + scrapbooking} - a Perfect Sunday

~ Perfect Sunday Reason No. 1 ~
This is the first time I'm using my KitchenAid Artisan mixer, almost a year after purchasing it. I enjoyed admiring the mustard yellow machine as much as the process of making the vanilla cupcakes with cocoa butter cream frosting (recipe from The Complete Magnolia Bakery Cookbook).

Another scrapbook layout completed. This one's theme is History with photos of Westminster Abbey and other character-filled architecture. I found myself re-creating those little keys I made for my housewarming invites. It was so much fun (again)!

"To Sir with Love" - Happy Teachers' Day!

I love this song (and the show)! Brings back memories of my love-hate relationship with teachers and school in general. My teachers were a myriad of characters of all shapes and sizes - there were nasty ones, sweet ones, sleepy ones, caring ones, ones who didn't give a ****.....Doesn't matter which category they fell in, we have to agree, teachers were a big part of our lives. I suppose teachers not only appear in school, even in our personal lives, we would have had "teachers" of some sort (gym instructor, work mentor, parents, older siblings etc).

"hubby.....go slow...." - for soccer fans

Wonder why some, especially guys, are just so into soccer? Getting extra 'emo' about their favorite teams, and purchasing every form of memorabilia available. As for those who love getting into the real action of the game, even an old injury or a past knee operation will not stop them from chasing after that ball!

An order came for a die-hard soccer lover, from his beloved wife who wanted a card to portray her husband's passion but yet to suggest new sports/activities for him, as he just needs to "go slow"... Dear wife does not want hubby to injure that same poor knee again and again!

Alternative sport? Golf perhaps?

Project Harry Potter & London - customised scrapbook

It felt almost as if we were there - admiring breathtaking views from the London Eye, striking poses with the celebrities at Madame Tussauds, roaming the Harry Potter Great Hall... The customer came to us with abundant information - vacation photos, ticket stubs, memorabilia, tourist brochures and even a restaurant napkin! Overwhelming as it is, this is the most exciting request we had so far and we're psyched to start on it. Just some of the materials to kick start the project:-

What's your wedding style?

Oriental's a cool way to go. Who says everything's got to be red, red and red? Accent your wedding decorations with sweet pinks, monotone black and white or rich gold, or you could even go brown. This wedding money holder we made had a mix of brown, beige and gold colors. Unconventional? We think so =)
